HILIKUNKUIVA VALKOINEN
A Finnish berry wine
Alc. 12 vol.%
Sugar 16 g/l
|
| Colour: |
An opaque toffy-like gold. Beautiful and at its best when served chilled
in large wine glasses. |
| Nose: |
When chilled, the wine has a thyme-like flavour, which grows agreeably richer when warming up, reminding of a wet currant cluster or pizza dough. The flavour also reminds of ethereal leaves of a young currant bush. |
| Taste: |
A really light, fairly sweet initial taste, which reminds of berries crushed up by frost. The short blunt after-taste slowly sprays some acidity, allowing space for plenty of unseasoned salads, young cabbage or steamed vegetables. The wine also goes with a vegetable soup, a clear fish soup and a beetroot soup, together with toast. It can be served as a rich aperitif and a party wine from an ice bowl. It could be accompanied by the new low-fat light cheeses. An unusually mild and delicate light Finnish berry wine. |
