Colour: The colour is purple, tinged with black. The wine has a bright outlook, and swishes nicely in the glass, like a viscous li- queur.
Nose: The aroma of blackcurrants is ripe and strong. The broad flavour, typical of large ripe berries, is concentrated and has an au- tumnal hint to it. The aroma of cognac strengthens and warms it, and even introduces a playful quality.
Taste: The taste contains the soft tannic notes of the skin of overripe blackcurrants and the lushness of berry flesh. The cognac accentuates it and softens the heavy acid stem into a nice lingering aftertaste. This fortified wine performs well as an elegent "light cognac" for those who find cognac alone too strong. It goes well with coffee, over or together with ice-cream, and alone as a party wine. It is particularly suitable with blue cheeses. In order to fully enjoy the aromas of blackcurrants, it is worth pouring the wine into a balloon glass and even warming it up slightly, so that the aromas can rice to the surface.
